Ecoterra Partners with Myra House to Feed the Homeless with Organic Foods

Sung and Myra Sohn, founders of Myra House and Ecoterra, announced a partnership with Pomona Valley Christian Center to provide organic foods to help feed a dinner for the homeless on Saturday, May 9, 2009. Myra House has been involved in feeding the homeless in past years, but this is the first time Ecoterra has joined in the effort to improving the food at a homeless center.

Ecoterra and Myra House will donate fresh, organic foods prepared with locally grown organic produce to provide maximum nutritional benefits for our homeless community. Meals will be prepared at Myra House and delivered by Myra, Sung and the volunteering staff from Ecoterra to feed approximately 60-80 homeless people. Donated meals include the main course, salad, drinks and desserts.

Organically grown produce attains bio-safe and nutritious value from soils and water while helping to build and maintain soil’s natural functions, eliminating the use of synthetic pesticides, fungicides, herbicides or fertilizers. Organic produce also helps to boost the immune system and assist in digestion.
